World Water Day 2010
March 22, 2010
World Water Day is just around the corner. We're amazed just thinking about all the important work around the world Water For People has accomplished over the past 19 years—thanks to the support and dedication of people like you.
Water For People is working to create a world where the cycle of water poverty has ended. When the pumps rust and need to be replaced, the people in these communities and their governments are empowered with the skills, knowledge, and resources to replace their systems themselves—without depending on another development organization to fix their problem.
Can you make a gift in support of World Water Day today? Your contribution will help us make a real impact on the lives of thousands of people in 11 developing countries.
Your contribution will help us make a real impact on the lives of people like Vennings Kayuzga in Blantyre, Malawi.
Supporting Change Agents
With our support, Vennings has transformed the livelihoods of tens of thousands of families by providing the most reliable water service in the city. His association is profitable and reinvesting in new water kiosks and thus expanding coverage in the places he works. He is creating jobs in a jobless economy by employing women to run the water kiosks. And he is breaking the cycle of failed water projects that has dominated this area by providing a reliable and affordable service based on sound business principles.
We are meeting and supporting change agents like Vennings in every country where we work, and can only do that with your help.
Our important work will continue into this new decade. We have the ability to achieve unprecedented impact in the coming years, but we need your continued support to do this. Help us to ensure that the people we help today never have to walk past a broken water pump or toilet again.
Thank you for all you’ve done in the past, and thank you for your gift in honor of World Water Day today.
